Get clear about your WHY!

It’s easy to say we ‘need’ to or ‘should’ do something, but that makes it feel like a chore.

Dig deep and come up with the real reason why making it happen in 2020 is important – and don’t forget it!

Remind yourself of your New Years Resolution and your WHY Daily

It can be easy to get swept up in the day to day grind again after you set your resolutions up.

Here are some tips to keep them alive in 2020:

  • Write them down every morning
  • Read over them every morning
  • Set reminders on your phone to simply remind you during the day
  • Talk about the progress you’re making with others

By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail!

Find little lifestyle hacks that will make it easier to make your resolutions and goals part of your day-to-day life.

Depending on what your goal is, here are some tips:

  • Pack your gym bag the night before
  • Prep your food for the week ahead
  • Leave the book your reading next to your bed
  • Plan what you will do the next day the night before to get a step closer

Ask for help

Speak to someone who has done it before, google to learn, hire a personal trainer or read a book – Information and support is everywhere!

Turn your resolution and goals into behaviors

It’s easy to talk about what we want to do. In reality, your resolution is only real when you actually DO the things you need to DO to make it happen.

For example:


”I’m going to the gym to lose weight”


”I will go to the gym 3 days per week before work and will eat 3 x nutritious and balanced meals per day.”

Surround yourself with people who are on a similar path

It’s possible for our goals or resolutions to become unimportant all over again when we don’t know anyone else who see’s value in what we are doing.

So keep the conversation up with those around you about what you’re doing, why you’re doing it and the progress you’re making.

You could visit places where you’ll meet new people that are aligned with your goals i.e. Want to get fit? Join a Gym! Want to read more… Go to a library! Want to learn a new language? Enroll in a group  language class!

Don't be discouraged if you slip up - Get. Back. On. It!

You know that feeling – Where you’re extremely motivated and on track. I’m sure you also know that feeling where you may have hit ‘that point of no return’.

If your WHY is strong enough, you’ll have no problem recovering from any ‘point of no return’.

Even if it means acknowledging you simply need a break… It doesn’t mean you need to quit!

Evolve your resolution and your why as the year goes on

Time will pass, we will experience new things and grow in one way or another.

Same principle goes for our goals!

Your goals need to grow as you do – Otherwise, you will out grow them.
